Halfabubbleoff Music Production / Recording Studio is located in the 7,000 sq. ft. main house on the 20-acre ranch property that we call "Rockin Horse Ranch" just 10 minutes from the quaint and rustic town of Darby Montana (Hwy 93) where you can shop for necessities and Montana gifts.
Rockin' Horse Ranch is the home of Jim and Donna Pearson, their 15 year old son Dean, 6 horses, 4 dogs, 2 cats, and lots of chickens! The Rockin' Horse Ranch property borders Bitterroot National Forest Service Land, is just over a mile away from the Bitterroot Valleys' designated "Off Road" area, and only minutes away from countless outdoor activities - click this link for information on "Montana Recreation."
Our guests can relax in the spacious detached 1000 sq. ft. private guest home retreat with the rustic quintessential Montana vibe. This 2nd story guest home (located over our workshop) is over 700 feet from the county maintained road (yes, it's quiet and you will sleep soundly!) and has 360 degree views of the Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains, the Bitterroot Forest, horse pastures and the Big Sky of Montana. It is fully self-contained with it's own kitchen, dining area, bathroom with shower/bathtub, sleeping area (with a log bed), and living room area with HD satellite TV...one big sectional room that is a perfect place for two couples and a child or two or a family. The guest home also features a cozy Franklin-style gas fireplace to provide warmth, an air conditioner/heater unit for cooling in the summer, two sky lights that add to the ambiance, and a queen-sized "Memory Foam" mattress that guarantees a VERY comfortable night's sleep. We also have a queen-sized couch bed and additional portable beds can be provided if needed.
In addition, we have another fully self-contained one-bedroom guest home attached to the main house that accommodates 2-3 additional guests. This guest home has two private entrances, a full kitchen, living room, HD satellite TV, front and back decks, and great views of the bitterroot forest, horses and horse pastures.
Decompress and eliminate toxins in our sauna room located next to the music studio.
Bring your own horses if you want! We have several fenced/cross-fenced pastures to separate your horses from our own "horse herd."
We have a large outdoor arena and small round pen for beginner horseback riders. For those who are experienced and want to go on a trail ride, we can access the bitterroot forest trails and county roads directly from our property for seemingly endless miles of scenic riding or we can trailer the horses out if you have a special kind of trail in mind.
We also have a 5-stall horse barn, a hay barn and two ponds - the larger pond features what we call our "beer pier" where we like to hang out in the summer time. Jim built a 22x14 ft. "pier" that extends out over the pond and is perfect for doing cannon balls. The pond is not large enough for a boat (about 70x60 ft.) so the kids dive off the pier, float around in rafts, and play in the 50 ft. spray Jim has rigged up during irrigation season by removing the sprinkler heads from one of our pasture irrigation pipes.
Jim also built an awesome tree house at the spot where our pasture meets the forest, so if you have kids, bring em---Good times!
There is a long list of other activities to choose from as well, such as simply hanging out and enjoying the space, playing pool, darts or cards in our "play room", gazing at the 'Big Montana Sky" and the long Montana Sunrise or Sunset (it doesn't get dark until 10:30 pm in the summertime!) or you can marvel at the awesome stars that fill the Montana night sky (yes, it's true that we CAN see all of the stars in the Universe here!!). There is no real need to go off of Rockin' Horse Ranch to find the inspiration and beauty that Montana has to offer, but there are countless options if you want to get out and play.
